AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE IDENTIFICATION OF A SITE FOR A BOYS REINTEGRATION CENTER IN LAS VEGAS, NEW MEXICO.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Thirty thousand dollars ($30,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2014 to defray costs associated with the identification of a site in Las Vegas, New Mexico for a boys reintegration center. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2014 shall revert to the general fund.

          B. The boys reintegration center shall be a facility that prepares boys and young men for reentry into society after incarceration by providing vocational training, life skills training, mentoring and transitional services that include housing, transportation and job placement.
