AN ACT

RELATING TO LIVESTOCK; ENACTING A NEW SECTION OF THE LIVESTOCK CODE TO REQUIRE THE NEW MEXICO LIVESTOCK BOARD TO IDENTIFY AND MONITOR ANIMALS THAT HAVE BEEN REJECTED FOR SLAUGHTER FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION AT THE MEXICAN BORDER.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. A new section of The Livestock Code is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] IDENTIFICATION AND MONITORING OF ANIMALS REJECTED AT THE MEXICAN BORDER.--The board shall identify and monitor animals that have been rejected for slaughter for human consumption at the Mexican border."
