AN ACT

RELATING TO DISASTERS; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE STATE MATCH FOR INFRASTRUCTURE RECOVERY IN RESPONSE TO THE 2008 FLOOD DAMAGE TO THE WASTEWATER INFRASTRUCTURE IN RUIDOSO; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Nine million one hundred fifty-nine thousand dollars ($9,159,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the homeland security and emergency management department for expenditure in fiscal years 2015 through 2019 to plan, design and construct improvements to the wastewater infrastructure in Ruidoso that was damaged by the 2008 severe flooding within the village limits and as required by the presidential declarations of emergency and the federal emergency management implementation plan. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2019 shall revert to the general fund.

     SECTION 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
