AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO PROVIDE LOCALLY GROWN NEW MEXICO FRESH FRUITS AND VEGETABLES FOR SCHOOL LUNCHES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2015 and subsequent fiscal years for the New Mexico department of agriculture to purchase locally grown New Mexico fresh fruits and vegetables and to administer a program to provide such fresh fruits and vegetables for public school lunch programs in the Gadsden, Las Cruces and Deming school districts. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
