FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE CHILDREN, YOUTH AND FAMILIES DEPARTMENT TO FUND A SUPPORTIVE HOUSING PILOT PROJECT TO PROVIDE PERMANENT HOUSING AND SUPPORTIVE SERVICES FOR AT-RISK FAMILIES AND CHILDREN.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--

          A. Nine hundred thousand dollars ($900,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the children, youth and families department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to fund a supportive housing pilot project to provide permanent housing and supportive services for families that:

                (1) have children who have been identified

as victims of child abuse or neglect;

                (2) lack adequate housing; and

                (3) struggle with substance abuse or mental health issues.

          B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
