AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE TO STUDY THE HYDROGEOLOGY OF THE AQUIFER UNDERLYING COLFAX, HARDING, MORA AND UNION COUNTIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million seven hundred twenty-four thousand dollars ($1,724,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 to study the hydrogeology of the aquifer underlying Colfax, Harding, Mora and Union counties in northeast New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the general fund.
