Mr. President:
Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
SENATE CONSERVATION COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 211
has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
1. On page 2, between lines 4 and 5, insert the following new subsection:
"D. "last chance animal" means a cat or dog that has been evaluated by the shelter as adoptable but has not been adopted, or has been selected for transfer, and has run out of time and is scheduled for euthanasia;".
2. Reletter the succeeding subsections accordingly.
3. On page 2, line 25, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof "for a last chance animal if the animal rescue organization provides proof of its nonprofit status pursuant to Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, as amended or renumbered. The animal shelter shall keep this proof on record.".
