AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD BOOKS AND TOYS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the early childhood care and education fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2016 for books and toys to be purchased and then loaned by regional education cooperatives to providers of state-funded early child care assistance programs. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2016 shall revert to the early childhood care and education fund.
