A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING FEBRUARY 24, 2015 AS "NDI NEW MEXICO DAY" IN THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

 

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico, NDI, provides the children of New Mexico with programs that help them develop core skills, self-perceptions and critical thinking that set the stage for effective learning in the classroom; and

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico serves more than eight thousand seven hundred children each year; and

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico has served seventy-five thousand children across the state since its inception; and

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico is a statewide nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children by teaching the national dance institute of New Mexico's "core four": work hard; do your best; never give up; and be healthy; and

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico is founded in the knowledge that the arts have a unique power to engage and motivate children; and

     WHEREAS, the purpose of the national dance institute of New Mexico's distinctive programs is to help children develop discipline, a standard of excellence and a belief in themselves that will carry over into all aspects of their lives; and

     WHEREAS, the national dance institute of New Mexico is a public-private partnership that collaborates with federal, state and local government entities; public schools and school districts; businesses; individuals; and foundations to promote a platform for children's success and to develop educated, productive and engaged citizens who will create successful families and communities;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that February 24, 2015 be proclaimed "NDI New Mexico Day" in the house of representatives; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this memorial be transmitted to the national dance institute of New Mexico board.
