A MEMORIAL

REMEMBERING AND HONORING TOMMY W. SANCHEZ FOR HIS SERVICE TO THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO.

     WHEREAS, Tommy W. Sanchez, a long-time resident of Santa Fe, was born on April 21, 1968 and died on November 2, 2014; and

     WHEREAS, since 2006, Tommy W. Sanchez worked during legislative sessions as an attendant in the office of the New Mexico sergeant at arms and served three senate presidents pro tempore, Senator Ben D. Altamirano, Senator Timothy Z. Jennings and Senator Mary Kay Papen, an unmatched precedent; and

     WHEREAS, no job was too small or too big for him, and with his enthusiasm to serve and laugh, Tommy exemplified a generous spirit and was always available to gently assist new members of the legislature; and

     WHEREAS, Tommy W. Sanchez was a 1986 graduate of St. Michael's high school; and

     WHEREAS, Tommy W. Sanchez also enjoyed playing softball with the Santa Fe softball association and spending time with his family; and

     WHEREAS, Tommy W. Sanchez is survived by his parents, Alfonso and Cecilia Sanchez; his son, Jaziah Peralta Sanchez; his sisters, Alicia, Arlene, Peggy and Tammy; his extended family, Audrey Peralta and Wendy Gonzales; and many nieces, nephews and beloved friends;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Tommy W. Sanchez be remembered for his enthusiasm, his laughter and his generous spirit; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that Tommy W. Sanchez be honored for his service to the New Mexico senate; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that copies of this memorial be transmitted to the family of Tommy W. Sanchez.
