AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO STUDY HOW NEW MEXICO SHOULD FINANCE EMERGENCY SERVICES STATEWIDE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2017 for the injury prevention and emergency medical services bureau of the public health division to conduct a study in collaboration with the state fire marshal to determine how best to support emergency services statewide. The department shall report to the appropriate interim legislative committees no later than December 2016 on the results of the study. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2017 shall revert to the general fund.
