A MEMORIAL

PROCLAIMING MONDAY, JANUARY 30, 2017, AS "OPTOMETRY DAY" IN THE NEW MEXICO HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES.

     WHEREAS, sight is a precious and valuable gift that enables individuals to experience the wonder of the world around them; and

     WHEREAS, professional eye care can safeguard and maintain the visual welfare of New Mexico residents; and

     WHEREAS, the New Mexico optometric association has called upon its members to provide the highest standard of professional care to their patients and to help all individuals become more aware of the importance of obtaining regular eye health examinations and maintaining good eye health;

     NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO that Monday, January 30, 2017, be proclaimed "Optometry Day" in the house of representatives; and

     BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that all New Mexicans observe this celebration by paying special attention to their personal eye and vision care needs and the eye and vision care needs of those they cherish.
