    Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 234

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 15, before the period, insert "; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION".

    2. On page 12, between lines 8 and 9, insert the following new section:

    "SECTION 5. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2019 to administer fingerprint-based background checks for employees of school districts, charter schools and regional education cooperatives who were employed by and who have been continuously employed in a school district, charter school or regional education cooperative since 1997. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2019 shall revert to the general fund.".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
