HOUSE FLOOR AMENDMENT number ___1__ to HOUSE BILL 8

    1. On page 1, lines 21 and 22, strike "where the sale is made for a fee or other consideration".

    2. On page 2, line 4, after "officers", insert "authorized to carry a firearm and".

    3. On page 2, line 5, before "the", insert "federal law or".

    4. On page 2, lines 5 and 6, strike "and authorized to carry a firearm".

    5. On page 2, between lines 7 and 8, insert the following new paragraph:

             "(1) "consideration" means anything of value exchanged between the parties to a sale;".

    6. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly.

    7. On page 2, line 17, after "shotgun", insert ", but does not include an antique firearm as defined in 18 U.S.C. Section 921(16), a powder-actuated tool or other device designed to be used for construction purposes, an emergency flare or a firearm in a permanently inoperable condition".
