    Your LOCAL GOVERNMENT, LAND GRANTS & CULTURAL AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 36

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

     1. On page 2, line 12, after "used", insert "as matching funds for federal and private grants and".

     2. On page 2, line 15, after "including", insert "hiring staff,".

     3. On page 2, line 19, strike "office" and insert in lieu thereof "furniture, fixtures," and after "equipment", insert ", vehicles, heavy equipment".

     4. On page 2, line 20, strike "and".

     5. On page 2, line 24, strike the period and insert in lieu thereof a semicolon.

     6. On page 2, between lines 24 and 25, insert the following:

                "(5) carry out community and economic development projects, including maintenance, repair, renovation and construction of land grant-merced infrastructure, buildings, facilities and parks and the acquisition of real property; and

                (6) carry out natural resource conservation initiatives, including projects related to watershed health, ecological restoration, fuels reduction, range improvements and soil and water conservation.".

     7. On page 3, line 12, strike the semicolon, strike lines 13 and 14 in their entirety and strike line 15 up to the period.,

and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS & FINANCE COMMITTEE.
