AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE NEW MEXICO DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE FOR A STUDY ON HOW TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCTION AND SALE OF INDUSTRIAL HEMP IN NEW MEXICO.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 for the New Mexico department of agriculture to perform a study to determine how to develop the production and sale of industrial hemp in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
