    Your CONSUMER & PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 139

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

1. On page 1, line 14, strike "REQUIRING RECORDKEEPING".

 

     2. On page 2, strike lines 7 through 23 in their entirety.

 

     3. Renumber the succeeding paragraphs accordingly. 

 

     4. On page 3, line 13, strike the colon, strike lines 14 through 16, and on line 17, strike "(2)".

 

     5. On page 3, line 17, strike "contact" and insert in lieu thereof "alert".

 

     6. On page 3, line 18, strike "contact" and insert in lieu thereof "initiate contact with".

 

     7. On page 4, line 1, before "directly", insert "controls and operates a hotel, motel, bed and breakfast, inn or similar transient lodging establishment in the state and,".

 

     8. On page 4, line 7, before "that", insert ", appropriate for the size and layout of the establishment,".

 

     9. On page 4, line 12, after "be", insert:

 

"notified of the violation. If a violation is not corrected within fifteen days from the date the notification was made, the hotel employer shall be".

 

     10. On page 4, lines 12 and 13, strike "five hundred dollars ($500)" and insert in lieu thereof "fifty dollars ($50.00)".

 

 

 

 

     11. On page 4, line 15, strike "July 1, 2019" and insert in lieu thereof "January 1, 2020".,

 

and thence referred to the COMMERCE & ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT COMMITTEE.
