AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT DEPARTMENT TO FUND A WORKING GROUP TO IDENTIFY WAYS TO DIRECT INVESTMENT AND REINVESTMENT IN FRONTIER COMMUNITIES.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the economic development department for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 to convene a working group, including at least one representative from the national center for frontier communities, to identify innovative ways to direct investment and reinvestment of state resources into frontier communities for the development of infrastructure, community and essential services. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
