AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT TO PROVIDE CIVICS COURSES FOR BOYS AND GIRLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 to contract for annual weeklong high school civics courses focusing on New Mexico state government for boys and girls to be held at varying post-secondary educational institutions in New Mexico. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
