AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NEW MEXICO TO ESTABLISH AND OPERATE AN AFRICAN AMERICAN EDUCATION DEPARTMENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Three hundred thousand dollars ($300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2020 to establish and operate an African American education department. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2020 shall revert to the general fund.
