    Your PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

SENATE BILL 55

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. On page 1, line 12, strike "REPEALING" and strike lines 13 and 14 and insert in lieu thereof "MAKING TECHNICAL AND CONFORMING CHANGES.".

    2. On page 3, line 1, strike "Section 30-6-1" and insert in lieu thereof "Section 30-6A-3, 30-6A-4".

    3. On page 3, strike lines 4 through 6 and insert in lieu thereof the following new section:

    "SECTION 2. Section 30-1-9.1 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1987, Chapter 117, Section 1) is amended to read:

    "30-1-9.1. OFFENSES AGAINST CHILDREN--TOLLING OF STATUTE OF LIMITATIONS.--The applicable time period for commencing prosecution pursuant to Section 30-1-8 NMSA 1978 shall not commence to run for an alleged violation of Section 30-6-1 [30-9-11 or 30-9-13] NMSA 1978 until the victim attains the age of eighteen or the violation is reported to a law enforcement agency, whichever occurs

first."".,

and thence referred to the JUDICIARY COMMITTEE.
