SENATE FLOOR AMENDMENT number __2___ to SENATE PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMITTEE SUBSTITUTE FOR SENATE BILL 406, as amended


Amendment sponsored by Senator Gerald Ortiz y Pino



    1. On page 26, lines 14 through 22, strike Subsection A in its entirety and insert in lieu thereof the following subsection:


         "A. Unless a failure to do so would cause the employer to lose a monetary or licensing-related benefit under federal law or federal regulations, it is unlawful to take an adverse employment action against an applicant or an employee based on conduct allowed under the Lynn and Erin Compassionate Use Act.".


    2. On page 27, line 1, strike "intoxicating substances" and insert in lieu thereof ", or being impaired by, medical cannabis".


    3. On page 27, line 3, strike "who" and insert in lieu thereof "whose employer deems that the employee".


    4. On page 27, line 4, after the period, insert a closing quotation mark and strike lines 5 through 14 in their entirety.
