AN ACT

RELATING TO MILITARY AFFAIRS; SPECIFYING WHAT CONSTITUTES MILITARY LEAVE AND WHO MAY AUTHORIZE MILITARY LEAVE FOR MEMBERS OF THE CIVIL AIR PATROL.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. Section 20-7-5 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1987, Chapter 318, Section 51) is amended to read:

     "20-7-5. MILITARY LEAVE.--Members of the civil air patrol shall be permitted military leave pursuant to Section 20-4-7 NMSA 1978 not to exceed fifteen working days per year for [search and rescue missions] official duties as assigned by the director of the civil air patrol division of the department of military affairs or an incident commander of an active mission."

     SECTION 2. EFFECTIVE DATE.--The effective date of the provisions of this act is July 1, 2020.
