AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR A STATEWIDE COMPREHENSIVE STANDARDS-BASED SOFT SKILL ONLINE LEARNING PROGRAM THAT TEACHES MIDDLE AND HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS SOFT SKILLS THAT WILL PREPARE THEM TO BE CAREER- AND COLLEGE-READY AND A SUCCESS IN THE WORKPLACE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four million dollars ($4,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of the university of New Mexico for expenditure in fiscal year 2021 for the student affairs department to develop a comprehensive statewide standards-based soft skill online learning program that teaches middle and high school students soft skills that will prepare them to be career- and college-ready and a success in the workplace. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2021 shall revert to the general fund.
