AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE WORKFORCE SOLUTIONS DEPARTMENT TO ESTABLISH AND ADMINISTER TEEN TECHNOLOGY CENTER PROGRAMS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two million dollars ($2,000,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the workforce solutions department for expenditure in fiscal year 2021 to establish and administer teen technology center programs. The teen technology center programs shall be based on a community center model that immerses teens in science, technology, engineering and mathematics while meeting social and recreational needs. The initial programs shall be located in Alamogordo, Roswell, Raton, Taos and Albuquerque. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2021 shall revert to the general fund.
