AN ACT

RELATING TO GOVERNMENTAL CONDUCT; PROHIBITING A PUBLIC EMPLOYEE FROM RECEIVING A SALARY OR OTHER COMPENSATION FROM A POLITICAL CAMPAIGN DURING THE PERIOD OF EMPLOYMENT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. A new section of the Governmental Conduct Act is enacted to read:

     "[NEW MATERIAL] COMPENSATION FROM CAMPAIGN PROHIBITED.-- During the period of employment, an employee of a state agency or a local government agency shall not accept a salary or other compensation from a candidate or campaign committee that is subject to the Campaign Reporting Act."
