FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH FOR A MENTORING PROGRAM THAT TRAINS HEALTH CARE PROVIDERS AND STAFF WITH RESPECT TO THE PROVISION OF SERVICES RELATED TO LONG-ACTING REVERSIBLE CONTRACEPTION.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million two hundred thousand dollars ($1,200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2021 and subsequent fiscal years for a mentoring program that trains health care providers and staff with respect to the provision of services related to long-acting reversible contraception. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the general fund.
