AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH TO CONTRACT WITH AN APPROPRIATE ORGANIZATION TO TRAIN AND PARTNER WITH HEALTH CARE PROFESSIONALS AND OTHER STAKEHOLDERS TO IMPROVE THE HEALTH OUTCOMES OF AFRICAN AMERICAN MOTHERS AND INFANTS IN COMMUNITIES MOST IMPACTED BY BIRTH EQUITY DISPARITIES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the department of health for expenditure in fiscal year 2021 to contract with an appropriate organization to train and partner with health care professionals and other stakeholders to improve the health outcomes of African American mothers and infants in communities most impacted by birth equity disparities. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2021 shall revert to the general fund.
