Mr. President:

    Your JUDICIARY COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

HOUSE BILL 5, as amended

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

    1. Strike HOUSE FLOOR AMENDMENT number 3 to HOUSE BILL 5, as amended, item number 3.

    2. On page 2, line 5, strike the period and insert the following:

    "; and

        (3) the appointing authorities shall make every effort to ensure economic, geographic, gender, cultural and racial diversity among the appointed members as well as at least one member experienced in law enforcement.".

    3. On page 3, line 5, strike "policies and develop".

    4. On page 3, strike line 6 in its entirety.
