AN ACT

RELATING TO EMERGENCIES; PROVIDING THAT NO MORE THAN SEVEN HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND DOLLARS ($750,000) PER QUARTER OF A FISCAL YEAR MAY BE APPROPRIATED FROM THE APPROPRIATION CONTINGENCY FUND TO ADDRESS EMERGENCIES DECLARED IN THAT QUARTER.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. Section 12-11-24 NMSA 1978 (being Laws 1955, Chapter 185, Section 2, as amended) is amended to read:

     "12-11-24. PROVISIONAL APPROPRIATION.--For the purposes set out in Section [6-7-1] 12-11-23 NMSA 1978, when and if the governor [shall declare] declares an emergency, as provided in Section [6-7-3] 12-11-25 NMSA 1978, there is appropriated the sum of no more than seven hundred fifty thousand dollars ($750,000) [for each eligible and qualified applicant or so much thereof as the governor may from time to time designate from the surplus unappropriated money in the general fund, if any, at the time of the declaration of such emergency or emergencies] per quarter of a fiscal year from the appropriation contingency fund to address emergencies declared in that quarter."
