AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE BOARD OF REGENTS OF EASTERN NEW MEXICO UNIVERSITY TO MANAGE AND CONDUCT A PROGRAM TO TRAIN TEACHERS AND TO TEACH SCHOOL CHILDREN ABOUT ROBOTICS.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred thousand dollars ($200,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the board of regents of eastern New Mexico university for expenditure in fiscal year 2022 to manage and conduct a digital learning platform for New Mexico teachers and students, kindergarten though grade twelve, to learn, practice and apply coding strategies with simulated robots in activities and missions designed for international competitions and to provide online courses to prepare teachers to use differentiated curricula with students so the students may participate competitively in international robotic events. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2022 shall revert to the general fund.
