AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS PROGRAMS AROUND THE STATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 to provide short- and long-term college and career readiness programming at public high schools around the state through requests for proposals in which one or more providers are selected. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the general fund.
