AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE AGING AND LONG-TERM SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO HIRE TWO FULL-TIME EMPLOYEES WHO WILL ENGAGE IN COMMUNITY-BASED AND CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE OUTREACH CAMPAIGNS RELATED TO ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE AND OTHER FORMS OF DEMENTIA IN NATIVE AMERICAN, TRIBAL, RURAL AND UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES IN THE STATE.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the Kiki Saavedra senior dignity fund to the aging and long-term services department for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 and subsequent fiscal years to hire two full-time employees who will engage in community-based and culturally appropriate outreach campaigns related to Alzheimer's disease and other forms of dementia in Native American, tribal, rural and underserved communities in the state. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of a fiscal year shall not revert to the Kiki Saavedra senior dignity fund.
