    Your LABOR, VETERANS & MILITARY AFFAIRS COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred

 

HOUSE BILL 195

 

has had it under consideration and reports same with recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:

 

    1. On page 1, line 11, after "PROVIDING", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 12 and 13 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof "AN IMMEDIATE EXEMPTION FROM FURTHER PROPERTY TAX OBLIGATION UPON THE GRANTING OF A VETERAN EXEMPTION CERTIFICATE FROM THE VETERANS' SERVICES DEPARTMENT AND PRESENTATION TO THE COUNTY ASSESSOR BY A DISABLED VETERAN OR THEIR UNMARRIED SURVIVING SPOUSE.".

 

     2. On page 5, line 3, after "section", strike the remainder of the line, strike lines 4 through 7 in their entirety and insert in lieu thereof "and presents the veteran exemption certificate from the veterans' services department to the county assessor, that qualifying disabled veteran or the veteran's unmarried surviving spouse shall be immediately eligible for an exemption from property tax instead of waiting until the new calendar year. This does not contain any retroactive provisions and shall only be valid when and at the time it is presented to the county assessor."".

 

and thence referred to the TAXATION & REVENUE COMMITTEE.
