FOR THE LEGISLATIVE HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES COMMITTEE

 

AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE OFFICE OF SUPERINTENDENT OF INSURANCE TO STUDY AND REPORT FINDINGS RELATED TO THE POSSIBLE ADOPTION OF THE HEALTH SECURITY ACT.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One million five hundred thousand dollars ($1,500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the office of superintendent of insurance for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 to contract with consultants and hire staff to conduct research related to the possible adoption of the Health Security Act, including costs, quality of care delivered and administrative requirements, and report its findings to the appropriate interim legislative committees. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the general fund.
