AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE PUBLIC EDUCATION DEPARTMENT FOR THE EXPANSION OF A STATEWIDE MEDIA LITERACY PROGRAM IN PUBLIC SCHOOLS.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Four hundred thousand dollars ($400,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the public education department for expenditure in fiscal year 2023 for the expansion of a statewide media literacy program in public schools for the 2022-2023 school year. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2023 shall revert to the general fund.
