AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL SERVICE TO HIRE A CONSULTANT TO ANALYZE THE FISCAL VIABILITY OF THE MEDICAID MANAGED CARE STRUCTURE AND DEVELOP METHODS TO MAKE THE MANAGED CARE SYSTEM MORE TRANSPARENT.

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Two hundred fifty thousand dollars ($250,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the legislative council service for expenditure in fiscal year 2024 to hire a consultant to analyze the fiscal viability of the medicaid managed care structure and develop methods to make the managed care system more transparent. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2024 shall revert to the general fund.
