AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO FUND A BEHAVIORAL HEALTH FACILITY IN CURRY COUNTY; DECLARING AN EMERGENCY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Thirty-nine million dollars ($39,000,000) is appropriated from the consumer settlement fund of the office of the attorney general to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal years 2023 through 2025 to design, construct and equip a behavioral health facility in Curry county. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the consumer settlement fund.

     SECTION 2. EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
