     WHEREAS, being a true earth citizen is about promoting mindful living, natural health and world sustainability; and

     WHEREAS, the earth is facing challenges like never before, including global warming, pollution, public health epidemics and toxicity; and

     WHEREAS, changing this trajectory cannot be done without changing peoples' consciousness from selfishness and competition to harmonious coexistence; and

     WHEREAS, this change in consciousness begins with a widening of perspective and an acceptance of earth citizenship as a shared identity and in finding common ground to work together; and

     WHEREAS, the earth citizen movement was proposed by Ilchi Lee, the founder of the earth citizens organization, with the goal of connecting one hundred million people in the spirit of earth citizenship; and

     WHEREAS, one hundred million earth citizens, comprising approximately one percent of the earth's population, would form the foundation for a peaceful and sustainable future for humanity and the planet by co-creating and leading mindful, harmonious and holistically sustainable lives, inspiring a groundswell of others to do the same;
