AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL SERVICE TO CONTRACT FOR AN ACADEMIC REVIEW OF BEHAVIORAL HEALTH STATUTES AND MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR AMENDMENTS TO BEHAVIORAL HEALTH STATUTES.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--One hundred thousand dollars ($100,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the legislative council service for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 to contract for an academic review of existing behavioral health statutes and make recommendations for the consolidation of and amendments to related statutes, including consideration of the intercept model of behavioral health care. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
