AN ACT

MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE LOCAL GOVERNMENT DIVISION OF THE DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE AND ADMINISTRATION TO PROVIDE FUNDING TO A PROGRAM THAT ASSISTS RESIDENTS OF GRANT AND HIDALGO COUNTIES WHO ARE AT LEAST SIXTY YEARS OLD, HAVE AN INCOME THAT IS AT OR BELOW TWO HUNDRED PERCENT OF THE FEDERAL POVERTY LEVEL AND ARE IN NEED OF ASSISTANCE TO SUPPORT THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE AND SAFETY.

 

BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:

     SECTION 1. APPROPRIATION.--Fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the local government division of the department of finance and administration for expenditure in fiscal year 2025 to provide funding to a program that assists residents of Grant and Hidalgo counties who are at least sixty years old, have an income that is at or below two hundred percent of the federal poverty level and are in need of assistance to support their quality of life and safety. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 2025 shall revert to the general fund.
