0001| A JOINT RESOLUTION | 0002| APPROVING AND RATIFYING THE TRANSFER OF REAL PROPERTY BY THE GENERAL | 0003| SERVICES DEPARTMENT TO THE NEW MEXICO REGION NO. 2 HOUSING AUTHORITY. | 0004| | 0005| WHEREAS, the property control division of the general services | 0006| department has control over certain state buildings and lands; and | 0007| WHEREAS, the property control division of the general services | 0008| department has authority to sell or trade state buildings and real | 0009| property under its control in accordance with Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978; | 0010| and | 0011| WHEREAS, the property of approximately ten acres in the area of | 0012| the Las Vegas medical center is under the jurisdiction of the property | 0013| control division of the general services department; and | 0014| WHEREAS, the state of New Mexico may enter into an agreement with | 0015| the region no. 2 housing authority to develop housing for low income and | 0016| disabled individuals in Las Vegas, New Mexico; and | 0017| WHEREAS, the region no. 2 housing authority needs real property in | 0018| order to construct and develop housing for low- income and disabled | 0019| individuals; and | 0020| WHEREAS, the Las Vegas medical center supports the community | 0021| placement of the mentally disabled, and the region no. 2 housing | 0022| authority agrees to designate one-half of the rental units to | 0023| accommodate people with disabilities; | 0024| NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF | 0025| NEW MEXICO that the general services department is authorized to | 0001| transfer to the region no. 2 housing authority approximately ten acres | 0002| in Las Vegas, New Mexico; and | 0003| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the secretary of general services is | 0004| empowered hereby to take all actions necessary to accomplish the | 0005| transfer of the real property to the region no. 2 housing authority; and | 0006| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that, pursuant to Section 13-6-3 NMSA 1978, | 0007| this resolution fulfills all approval and ratification prerequisites for | 0008| the transfer of real property by the general services department to the | 0009| region no. 2 housing authority; and | 0010| BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that a copy of this resolution be | 0011| transmitted to the general services department, the department of health | 0012| and the state housing authority. |
