0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO NEW MEXICO STATE UNIVERSITY FOR THE

0013|     WASTE MANAGEMENT EDUCATION AND RESEARCH CONSORTIUM.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     board of regents of New Mexico state university for expenditure
    |
0019|     in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of providing a ten percent
    |
0020|     state match for federal and private research revenues to operate
    |
0021|     the waste management education and research consortium, which
    |
0022|     trains waste management professionals and develops technologies
    |
0023|     to create new business opportunities and minimize environmental
    |
0024|     problems.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at
    |
0025|     the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
