  Mr. Speaker:
  
     Your EDUCATION COMMITTEE, to whom has been referred
  
                         HOUSE BILL 51
                                 
  has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
     1.  On page 1, line 24 after "money to" strike "accredited" and
  insert in lieu thereof "New Mexico state .
  board of education approved".  
  
     2.  On page 2, line 2, after "public" insert "or New Mexico
  state board of education accredited private" and after "setting"
  insert "in New Mexico".
  
     3.  On page 2, line 12, strike the period and insert in lieu
  thereof  ", including a regulation providing for the repayment within
  one year of all scholarship funds granted a student if that student
  does not comply with Paragraph (2) of this subsection.".,
  
  and thence referred to the APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE
  COMMITTEE.
