0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO THE ACEQUIA AND COMMUNITY DITCH FUND.

0014|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0015|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--Five hundred thousand dollars
    |
0016|     ($500,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the acequia
    |
0017|     and community ditch fund for expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for
    |
0018|     the purpose of providing assistance to acequia and community
    |
0019|     ditch associations involved in the adjudication process.  No
    |
0020|     more than five percent of the appropriation may be expended by
    |
0021|     the New Mexico department of agriculture for administrative
    |
0022|     costs incurred in the administration of the fund.  Any
    |
0023|     unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0024|     fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
