APPROPRIATIONS.-- | 0018| A. The following amounts are appropriated from the | 0019| general fund to the department of health for expenditure in | 0020| fiscal year 1997 to provide or contract for the following | 0021| purposes: | 0022| (1) five hundred forty-two thousand dollars | 0023| ($542,000) for persons with human immunodeficiency virus for | 0024| services to include emergency housing support, emotional and | 0025| practical support and client services, complementary and Native | 0001| American therapies, transportation, home care and services for | 0002| women and children; | 0003| (2) one hundred twenty-eight thousand dollars | 0004| ($128,000) to contract with New Mexico state institutions of | 0005| higher education that have medical and health sciences resources | 0006| for a collaborative approach to statewide rural education and | 0007| recruitment of professionals, paraprofessionals and mental | 0008| health care providers, including substance abuse counselors; and | 0009| (3) six hundred thirty thousand dollars | 0010| ($630,000) for human immunodeficiency virus prevention services | 0011| and programs, including targeted outreach and one-on-one peer-based outreach and youth behavior modification efforts, media | 0012| resources and behavior change support groups. | 0013| B. Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining | 0014| at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund. | 0015|  |
