0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR WILDERNESS-BASED COMMUNITY

0013|     LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS FOR YOUTH.

0015|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0016|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0017|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0018|     mental health division of the department of health for
    |
0019|     expenditure in fiscal year 1997 for the purpose of contracting
    |
0020|     for wilderness-based community leadership programs, for youth
    |
0021|     who fall along a continuum of risk, that use wilderness
    |
0022|     activities and challenges with principles of experiential
    |
0023|     education to build self-esteem and a positive youth culture. 
    |
0024|     Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of
    |
0025|     fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
