0012|     MAKING AN APPROPRIATION FOR COMPUTER AND VIDEO TECHNOLOGY FOR

0013|     MESA VISTA CONSOLIDATED SCHOOLS IN RIO ARRIBA COUNTY; DECLARING

0014|     AN EMERGENCY.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--
    |
0018|            A.  One million three hundred thousand dollars
    |
0019|     ($1,300,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the state
    |
0020|     department of public education for expenditure in fiscal years
    |
0021|     1996 and 1997 in the following amounts for the following
    |
0022|     purposes:
    |
0023|                 (1)  eight hundred thousand dollars ($800,000)
    |
0024|     to purchase and install computer technology at Ojo Caliente
    |
0025|     elementary school and Mesa Vista middle and high schools in Rio
    |
0001|     Arriba county; and
    |
0002|                 (2)  five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000) to
    |
0003|     purchase and install video and computer technology for each
    |
0004|     classroom within Mesa Vista consolidated schools located in Rio
    |
0005|     Arriba county.
    |
0006|            B.  Any unexpended or unencumbered balance remaining
    |
0007|     at the end of fiscal year 1997 shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0008|       Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0009|     peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
