     Your APPROPRIATIONS AND FINANCE COMMITTEE, to whom
  has been referred
  
                   HOUSE BILL 740, as amended
                                
                                 has had it under consideration and reports same with
  recommendation that it DO PASS, amended as follows:
  
     1.  Strike House Education Committee amendment 1.
  
     2.  On page 1, line 11, strike "MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO
  ESTABLISH" and insert in lieu thereof "ESTABLISHING".
  
     3.  On page 1, line 15, strike "APPROPRIATION" and insert in
  lieu thereof "SCHOOL-TO-WORK SYSTEM--ESTABLISHMENT".
  
     4.  On page 1, line 16, after "A.", strike the remainder of the
  line, strike line 17 through the second occurrence of "the" and
  insert in lieu thereof "The".
  
     5.  On page 1, line 18, after "education" strike the remainder
  of the line and insert in lieu thereof "shall".
  
     6.  On page 2, strike lines 24 and 25 and insert in lieu
  thereof:
  
          "B.  The state department of education shall submit a
  program evaluation to the legislative education study committee and
  the legislative finance committee by November 1, 1996 detailing the
  benefits of this program to the targeted population.".
