0012|     RELATING TO CAPITAL EXPENDITURES; MAKING AN APPROPRIATION TO

0013|     FUND A VIOLENCE- AND ABUSE-REDUCTION PROJECT; DECLARING AN

0014|     EMERGENCY.

0016|     BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF NEW MEXICO:
    |
0017|       Section 1.  APPROPRIATION.--One hundred fifty thousand
    |
0018|     dollars ($150,000) is appropriated from the general fund to the
    |
0019|     state department of public education for expenditure in fiscal
    |
0020|     years 1996 and 1997 for the purpose of continued funding of a
    |
0021|     project that has been designed to reduce violence to and abuse
    |
0022|     of children by increasing community involvement.  Any unexpended
    |
0023|     or unencumbered balance remaining at the end of fiscal year 1997
    |
0024|     shall revert to the general fund.
    |
0025|       Section 2.  EMERGENCY.--It is necessary for the public
    |
0001|         peace, health and safety that this act take effect immediately.
